(taken from the daily show's GOP convention shows in Philadelphia)

Jon Stewart:

Steve, is George Bush a man of character, who can unite our country, and get things done?

Steve Carell:
Yes, but his son is running this time (Steve laughs a lot) I was just waiting for you to say that!

Jon:

Vance, I'm going to pose the same question to you: George Bush, a leader with a purpose, can he unite our country?

Vance DeGeneres:
Sure, Jon (pauses) Oh! You were serious!

Jon:
Yes, I'm serious

Vance:

Well, no.

Jon:

Steve, what did you think about his nomination speech last night?

Steve:
Well, I didn't see it.

Jon:

Vance, what have you thought about the media's blitzkrieg that's been down here? What do you think of the media's coverage? Fair, judicious, slanted?

Vance:
Really in one word: awesome. Do you know that you don't even need cable to watch those guys? You know how we're so high on the dial, we're up there with that Spanish channel? Those guys are down there in the single digits.

Steve:
Those network anchors are all very professional.

Jon:
Well, I actually got a chance to head on over to 'TV Land' what they were calling the tent city that they set up down there that had all the media outlets that were down here at the convention, and it was interesting.

Vance:
I, uh...thought that you needed a special access pass to get in there.

Jon:

You guys, I'm an actor.
